The Center for Leadership Development

The Center for Leadership Development is located in Matola, Mozambique.  Their goal is to fully train pastors, church leaders, and lay members through a degreed program and modular courses.  Under the leadership of a friend and partner of ABIDE ministries, Isaias Ueane, CDL’s staff and faculty are committed sharing and teaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ with their country.   We are seeking to assisting them in raising funds to cover their basic operating cost.   They need help completing the construction of their school.  Once completed the structure will have classrooms; conference rooms; a library that will be available for not only CDL’s students but to the local community; a business center (copiers, emails, Wi-Fi etc.); dorms for students who have to travel from neighboring providences and for visiting teachers; and a day care center for students with small children and for the local community.

At various schools, orphanages, and day care centers, there is a lack of desks and chairs for the children and students.   Consequently they have to either sit on the floor, find benches, or on the ground outside of the facility.   A desk (and chairs for that desk) will cost $50.00USD and will accommodate 2-3 students.

The cost of tuition for a student to attend CDL (the degreed program which similar to the curriculum of a Masters of Bible Studies/ Christian Education/ Theology) is $120.00USD per month.  In the areas of Mozambique where ABIDE provides most of its ministry, the average income is approximately $7.00USD per week.  It is extremely difficult for students to afford the cost or for churches to pay for their members to attend.  Your support will provide this opportunity for the student, thereby providing churches, communities, and the country at large to benefit from a high level Christian Theological Training.

 ABIDE works with several orphanages and day care centers to provide food, shoes, and a time of fun in a Christian environment. We conduct Vacation Bible Schools for some of the areas, in which the children not only receive lessons found in the Bible, but we provide meals for the day. ABIDE also goes to the Central Hospital located in the capital city of Maputo. We spend time daily visiting children in the AIDS and cancer wards. Many of these children are alone. We work with a ministry that buys soft fruit for the children

Each year, individuals sense the call to participate in a short-term mission trip.  For most, it will be their first mission trip and for almost all of the participants, it will be their first journey to the continent of Africa.   A trip of this distance and time can be costly.   If would like to sponsor a specific person or any individual who needs the assistance, I know that they would be greatly appreciative.   This can also serve as a way for you to participate in what God is doing on the continent as well.
